Free Tier

Free Tier​

Every Echo Trader account starts on the free tier — no subscription required. The free tier is built so you can start journaling and reviewing your basic trading metrics right away, then upgrade when you're ready for copy trading and the advanced tools.

What's included on Free​

  • Trade journaling — the full journal: calendar, daily session reflections, per-trade notes, tags, emotions, and screenshots.
  • Basic performance metrics — Net P&L, Trade Win %, Profit Factor, Day Win %, plus the Cumulative P&L and Daily P&L charts and the trading calendar.
  • Order syncing — connect a broker and sync your order history so your journal and metrics are populated (see Syncing on Free below).
  • One broker connection.
  • P&L certificates — generate a shareable certificate of your results from the Metrics or Journal pages.

What a paid plan unlocks​

Upgrading to Basic or Premium unlocks:

  • Real-time trade copying — mirror a leader's trades across follower accounts, with the connection kept in sync throughout the week.
  • Advanced metrics — Echo Score, drawdowns, P&L breakdowns (by contract, account, and connection), weekly and time-of-day analysis, and more.
  • Journal Insights — correlate your journal entries with your P&L to see what actually moves your results.
  • Community leaderboards & insights.
  • Trade log, account management, and risk management tools.
  • More connections — Basic includes up to 2; Premium is unlimited.

Locked features are still visible throughout the app — they show a Upgrade to unlock prompt so you can see what a plan adds.

Syncing on Free​

Free accounts do not run a live copy-trading connection. Instead, when you connect a broker on the free tier, Echo Trader briefly authorizes with your broker to refresh your access token, pulls your orders, and then disconnects — it never keeps a live session open.

Because that token isn't kept alive by a persistent connection, it will expire periodically. When it does, a sync will prompt you to reconnect — just reconnect from the Connections page and sync again. (Paid plans keep the connection alive throughout the week, so there's no periodic reconnect.)

Your one free connection shows a Sync ready status when its token is valid, and Reconnect needed once it expires.

Upgrading​

You can upgrade anytime from the app. Open Profile → Subscription (or use the Start Free Trial button in the header or sidebar) to compare plans and choose Basic or Premium. See Manage Subscription for details.
