Metrics

The Metrics page gives you a comprehensive view of your trading performance. It includes KPI cards, P&L charts, a trading calendar heatmap, and breakdowns by contract, account, and connection.

Syncing Orders

Important Notes

  1. It is best to sync orders 1-2 months at a time. Echo Trader will limit you to syncing a maximum of 2 months of orders at a time. You can still sync more orders than this as far back as your brokerage allows - you will just have to go 2 months at a time.
  2. Your data is shown without fees
  3. You can only sync orders once every 30 seconds. If you attempt to sync again before that, you will see a rate limit message.

Prerequisites

  • You must have at least 1 active connection to sync orders
  • Echo Trader will sync orders across all active connections and all accounts available within each connection

How to Sync Orders

Before you can see any metrics, you need to sync your orders from Tradovate.

  1. Click the Sync Orders button in the toolbar to expand the sync panel.
  2. Select a Start Date and End Date for the range you want to import.
  3. Click Sync. Metrics will be populated on successful sync.

Filtering

Use the toolbar filters to narrow down your metrics to specific slices of your data. Filters you select are applied together.

  • Connections — Multi-select dropdown to filter by one or more broker connections.
  • Accounts — Multi-select dropdown to filter by one or more trading accounts.
  • Contracts — Multi-select dropdown to filter by one or more contract symbols (e.g., MES, NQ).
  • Date range — Use the start and end date pickers to limit the time window.

After selecting your filters, click Apply to refresh the data. The button shows the active filter count. Click Clear to reset all filters.

Your applied filters are saved automatically and will persist when you navigate away and come back, or refresh the page.

Dashboard Layout

All tiles on the Metrics page can be rearranged via drag and drop. Resize and reorder the KPI cards, charts, and breakdown tables to build the layout that works best for you. Your layout preferences are saved automatically as long as you don't clear your browser cache for Echo Trader.

Tiles can be hidden or shown by clicking the "Tiles" dropdown in the top right.

You can lock or unlock your chart layout by clicking the Locked/Unlocked button in the top right. Locking the layout means that you can't drag/drop or resize any tiles. Unlocking it means you can drag/drop and resize tiles.

Clicking the Reset Layout button in the top right resets the layout to the original view.

KPI Cards

The top section of the page displays eight key performance indicators at a glance:

CardDescription
Net P&LTotal profit or loss across all synced trades, with a trade count.
Trade Win %Percentage of winning trades, shown as a gauge arc with a W/L/D breakdown bar.
Profit FactorRatio of gross wins to gross losses. Values above 1.5 are highlighted green; below 1 is red.
Day Win %Percentage of profitable trading days out of total trading days.
Avg Win / LossRatio of average winning trade to average losing trade, with comparison bars.
Max DrawdownLargest peak-to-trough equity decline, with the date it occurred.
Max Daily DrawdownWorst single-day drawdown and its date.
Avg Trade DurationAverage time trades were held open.

Echo Score

The Echo Score tile gives you an overall trading performance rating on a scale of 0 to 10. It uses a radar (spider) chart to visualize six components:

ComponentWhat It Measures
Win %Your trade win rate
Profit FactorRatio of gross wins to gross losses
Avg Win/LossRisk-reward ratio
ConsistencyHow consistent your results are over time
Max DrawdownPeak-to-trough equity decline
Avg P&LAverage profit/loss per trade

Each component is scored from 0 to 10, and the overall Echo Score is a weighted combination.

If you have filters active, the Echo Score tile shows All Time and Filtered tabs so you can compare your overall score against the filtered subset.

If you have limited trading history, a "Minimal history" note appears — more trades and trading days will stabilize your score.

Charts

Below the KPI cards you will find several interactive charts:

  • Cumulative P&L — Running total of your P&L over time.
  • Daily P&L — Bar chart showing profit or loss for each trading day.
  • Weekly P&L — Aggregated P&L by week. Hidden by default — enable it from the Tiles dropdown.
  • Monthly P&L — Aggregated P&L by month. Hidden by default — enable it from the Tiles dropdown.
  • Trading Calendar — A calendar heatmap where each day is color-coded by P&L (green for profit, red for loss).
  • P&L by Time of Day — Shows which hours of the day tend to be most profitable.

P&L Breakdowns

The P&L Breakdowns section lets you slice your performance data three ways using tabs:

  • By Contract — See how each futures contract (e.g., MES, NQ, ES) has performed.
  • By Account — Compare performance across your different trading accounts.
  • By Connection — Compare performance across your broker connections.

Each breakdown table shows total P&L, number of trades, and win rate for each category.

Journal Insights

The Journal Insights tile connects your Trade Journal data to your trading performance. It requires at least 5 journaled sessions to unlock highlights.

Highlights

At the top, you'll see your best and worst performing tags across each category. For example, you might see that sessions where you felt "calm" had the highest P&L, while sessions tagged "fomo" had the worst.

Breakdown Tables

Five tabs let you slice your journaled performance data:

  • By Emotion — Performance grouped by each emotion tag.
  • By Setup — Performance grouped by each setup tag.
  • By Mistake — Performance grouped by each mistake tag.
  • By Market — Performance grouped by each market condition tag.
  • By Plan — Performance split by whether you followed your plan or not.

Each breakdown shows: days, trades, wins, losses, win rate, total P&L, average daily P&L, and profit factor.

Filtering Insights

Use the filter controls to narrow your insights:

  • Tags — Filter to specific tags across any category.
  • Confidence — Show only sessions at or above a confidence level.
  • Followed Plan — Filter to sessions where you did or didn't follow your plan.

The journal insights tile respects the same account, connection, contract, and date filters as the rest of the Metrics page.
